Base Campus

Where are we?

The Alzar School campus is situated on the North Fork of the Payette River, in Valley County, Idaho.  The North Fork of the Payette empties from Lake Cascade, then meanders through our hometown of Cascade.  Our school is less than 3 miles downstream of the world-class Kelly’s Whitewater Park.  Just a half an hour north, Tamarack Ski Resort offers excellent powder during the winter and miles of biking and hiking trails during the fall and summer.  McCall, a small town with a thriving tourism industry, is just an hour away (along with another ski resort, Brundage Mountain Resort).  Within a two-hour drive, we can enjoy internationally-renowned whitewater, climb multi-pitch routes, hike for days without encountering another person, and access all the amenities of Boise, the state’s capital.

Our facilities

The Alzar School began construction in 2011 on a brand new classroom building, student housing, and staff living quarters.  The campus was designed to be as environmentally sustainable as possible, utilizing passive solar heating, highly insulating materials, and reclaimed materials.  Would you like to see the campus as it is constructed?  Check out our regularly updated Facebook album!

If you would like to be a permanent part of our campus, we have some exciting named giving opportunities available.  Check them out at our Build Alzar campaign.
